Bashy’s new solo single Make My Day is scheduled for release on 20th December 2010. Produced by creators of N-funk, the multi-award winning NAPT. Bashy rhymes effortlessly over a dirty bassline, big beats and crazy electro synths on what is an inevitable club banger with a very familiar hook.
The single comes complete with some hot local reshapes from Chardy, fRew and Chris Fraser (preview the fRew mix below).
Bashy impacted on the UK underground scene through big ideas rather than access to big budgets; with a succession of hit mix-tapes (Your Mum, and Chupa Chups) and his critically acclaimed, debut album Catch Me If You Can, released in 2009 which featured the now iconic single Black Boys .
Fast forward to 2010, millions of Youtube views later and Bashy continues to thrive. White Flag one of the stand-out tracks on the Gorillaz Plastic Beach album is a collaboration featuring Bashy, Kano and the Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music which has brought about a whole new world of possibilities – literally. He has toured from Glastonbury to Damascus and is currently travelling across North America along with Bobby Womack, De la Soul, N.E.R.D and Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash on the next stage of the Gorillaz’ world-wide tour.
Bashy also currently features on The Count & Sinden’s new single Addicted to You the “monster” of a track being championed by key DJ’s at BBC Radio 1.
