Hailing from New Jersey in the US, DJ and producer Chris Malinchak established his foundations in music from an early age, studying classical piano before going on to explore jazz and composition through elementary and middle school. Buoyed by a shared enthusiasm Malinchak put together a string of tracks for the taste-making label French Express, becoming its most frequent contributor.
At the end of 2012 came ‘So Good to Me’. Pete Tong named it his “Essential New Tune”, Ministry of Sound snapped it up, the video topped 25 million views on YouTube, and Adele described it as “beautiful’ with the track quickly becoming the anthem of summer 2013.
New single ‘Stranger’, features Mikky Ekko. Premiered by Radio 1’s Pete Tong, ‘Stranger’, Malinchak’s third “Essential New Tune”, marks a distinct new sound for the New Jersey producer, combining a dizzying take on soulful funk and glitter ball disco.
‘Stranger’ has already started heating up in the UK where it peaked at #2 on the UK Cool Cuts Club Chart, was featured as Zane Lowe‘s “Hottest Record in the World” on Radio 1, came in at #1 in Mixmag‘s “Big Tunes”.
Remixes from Blonde, Subterfuge plus an alternative (Round 2) mix provided by Chris himself.
