Twenty-something producer SCALES has released one of the joints of the summer and beyond with ‘Loves Got Me High‘; a straight-up dance track that has brought a rogue (and vintage) sample of comedian and actor Jamie Foxx from his 1993 standup ‘Through the foxxhole’ bang into 2015 relevance with SCALES‘ slinky future-house touch and metallic edge. With an undeniably infectious hook it’s a track due for major crossover appeal.
Premiering on Danny Howard‘s BBCR1 show, it’s already attracted all the right attention on Shazam, KISS FM, DMC and Music Week tastemaker charts.
SCALES‘ credibility was cemented this year with his remix of Mura Masa’s ‘Firefly’ ft. Nao, then blowing Soundcloud away with his take on Ellie Goulding‘s ‘Love Me Like You Do’ that raced to 124K plays. Now on his own material and with credible remixes coming courtesy of Sonny Fodera, Koncept, Baskerville and a Dub mix on the horizon, there’s plenty of heavy duty ammunition to come.
This is a stylish and solid club damager that will see SCALES in prime position to carve his name and further his reputation with his new official release.
