JumpStar is an Anglo-French electronic music duo consisting of musicians Pete Hammerton and Will Simms originating in London, UK in 2013. They first met working as studio runners for the UK garage group Dreem Teem during the late nighties at ‘Magic Studios’ in Tottenham. Working with early pioneers of the UK garage/house scene such as Neneh Cherry and Artful Dodger they quickly developed their production skills to a high standard. They have often suggested this early experience in the dance music scene is responsible for forming part of their unique sound. With a collaboration on the cards, it never came about due to the busy schedule of both.
A few years later down the line the boys bumped in to each other at their local bar. It turns out they lived on the same road and within no time they jumped in the studio and wrote “We Did Alright”! Knowing they needed a vocal they sent it to the legendary Ron Carroll…. the rest as they say is history!
“We Did Alright” comes with a diverse remix package. For House pressure hit the Club, Jam Xpress while on the Garage tip The Golden Boy, B1G PR0J3CT provide the heat, Mainroom manoeuvres head directly to Henrix & Sevag , Patrick Hagenaar mixes and a NuDisco refit from Knuckle G.
